Jack Daniel's Single Barrel Tanyard Hill Rye 2025 is an annual limited release from the Jack Daniel Distillery. This year's release introduces a new expression from Tanyard Hill. If you’re standing at the Lynchburg Hardware Store and look straight up the hill, you’re looking at Tanyard Hill. For years Jack Daniel Distillery has known that it is a place that produces exceptional whiskey, but this is the first time they've called out Tanyard Hill on a bottle. This special whiskey rested at the top floors of one of their oldest barrelhouses for nearly a decade. The 2025 Jack Daniel's Special Release is a unique opportunity to experience how barrelhouses influence the proof and flavor of their rye mash bill. The special Tanyard Hill release starts with a grain bill of 70% rye, 18% corn, and 12% malted barley. They grind and ferment the whole grain, distill it in their copper stills, and then pass it through their traditional charcoal mellowing process. The Tennessee Rye Whiskey distillate was barreled in 2015 in new charred American White Oak barrels then were aged on the top floors of Barrel House 1 atop Tanyard Hill resulting in a complex, robust flavor that showcases their whiskey-making craft. Bottled at barrel proof, ranging between 130.2 to 148.8 proof, this special release exemplifies the versatility in proof that Tanyard Hill delivers.
